_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Lou Kobin has been my personal trainer for the past three years. Working with her is one of the best things I have ever done for my health. Prior to working with Lou, I was not athletic and felt very uneasy doing any exercise besides walking. Now I can do things that I never dreamed I could do. Lou continues to teach me how to use my body, how strong it can be and how to modify workouts based on how I’M feeling – a new concept for me.
I feel so much more energy after an hour working with Lou than when our session began. Our workouts have strengthened me physically, mentally and spiritually. Lou really cares.
Lou’s background as a physical therapist and an athlete provides her clients the best of both worlds. Her knowledge and experience enable Lou to:
Design creative, challenging and fun workouts
Modify workouts based on daily, weekly and monthly energy and ability level
Evaluate after an injury and recommend a healthy course of action
Give lots of motivation and encouragement
Facilitate personal goal setting
Assess clients’ current level of competence and tailor each workout to build on clients’ strengths
Use knowledge of nutrition, yoga, meditation, positive thinking and other practices to increase fitness and wellbeing
AND, Lou is a great massage therapist! Lou would be an excellent coach for anyone regardless of ability level -from a beginner like me to a professional athlete! She is truly super!

lou is the complete package!
she's inventive, knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging and very experienced in mysteries of the bodily kind! i was initially introduced to lou after orthopedic specialists were unable to identify the cause of significant hip pain after running. lou took the time to identify muscle imbalances, create personalized rehab exercises and provide additional relief via massage and i've been running without hip pain ever since! in additional to physical therapy, lou developed personalized track workouts and coached me to a half marathon PR. i have no hesitation to recommend lou whether you're an athlete training for an event or looking to heal some aches or pains. Lou has an amazing combination of creativity, out-of-box thinking, a solid foundation in sports physiology, current knowledge of innovative techniques, and a genuine desire to help people. I had a serious bike accident in the summer of 2004 which resulted in some nerve damage to my spinal cord. After my initial recovery I did the usual doctor, PT visits, and tried some Yoga and acupuncture to reduce pain. I was told about Lou after she won the 24 Hours of Adrenalin race at Laguna Seca (her first mtn bike race!) and eventually made an appointment. Lou has helped me so much! She has created exercises that I can do at home to increase my flexibility and core strength. She is sensitive to time constraints I have with work and family life. She has always been there for me, even when I have slacked off or lost focus. My teenage daughter sees Lou to help with foot pain when she runs. Lou is a good person and is very willing to work with anyone. I totally believe in Lou and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone wanting to heal or meet their physical goals

To have a job where you wake up in the morning and feel excited to go to work is a gift.
To have a gift which can be applied to a job which helps others is a blessing. To have Lou in your life, working, believing and delivering unsurpassed Physical Therapy, personal fitness and sports specific training entwined her positive energy is life-changing. Lou pushed me to take on cycling with a cause in mind, The Best Buddies Ride (http://www.bestbuddieschallenge.org). Lou embraced my own debilitating back injuries and pushed me to adjust a bike to fit my specific needs. Lou then trained me to ride with a unique position and new habits. I own a passion for cycling and well being today, because of Lou. Lou also became the bridge between the sideline and competitive cheerleading for my teen-aged daughter, Amanda. A serious back injury had her on the bench and in the dumps for a year. With Lou’s genuine belief in my daughter, her therapy and her skill training, Amanda is more than back on track. She recently earned a spot on the National Championship Team. If you think you can’t exercise because of an injury, you can. If you think it is too late to start taking care of yourself, it is not. If you need someone to remind you to believe in yourself, call my friend, Lou. Lisa Sipko, Los Gatos |
