Lou changed my life! That may sound dramatic but it is true. I have gone to her for massage, physical therapy and personal training. She is incredible at all three and makes a big impact in a short amount of time. Thanks to Lou I went from pain to no pain, from seeing multiple people many times a week to one person once a week, from a dozen at home PT exercises to a few, from weak to strong and from not much of a workout to a great, high sweat, high endorphin workout! Once you meet Lou, you don't need this review because she immediately inspires confidence. She is inspiring as a person and athlete and her energy and enthusiasm is contagious.
I had been suffering from chronic pain for 1.5 years when I was referred to Lou. I had a spinal injury that was affecting many parts of my body. I had gone to countless physical therapists and been in an exercise program. There had been some improvement but I was still always in pain and making it through the day was difficult and I could not do much in the way of real exercise. It was confusing going to so many people not to mention extremely expensive!
I initially started to go to Lou for massage and quickly it made a huge difference. I was no longer having pain! So I decided to see her for exercise. I didn't think I'd ever exercise much again due to my injuries. My first workout with Lou she had me sweating like crazy. I was so impressed and thrilled! I was very weak but Lou had the knowledge and intuition to challenge and push me while being very conservative and cautious to make sure the exercises did not aggravate or cause new injuries. After seeing Lou for several months I am back to running (which I never thought I would do again!), sprinting, lifting weights, working on doing a pull-up, etc. I am healthy and strong and feel great. I have my life back and I can care for my family and do the things I used to do.
If I have a flareup Lou is always able to address it and get me fixed up immediately. She even makes me an exercise program for me to do one day a week, and I now see her one day a week. She is efficient and maximizes the time spent and every minute with her is productive. Before seeing Lou when a new pain kicked in my reaction was to panic and fear that it was my next big thing. And it often was! Now I don't even worry and know that Lou will take care of it and she always does!
I love everything about going to see Lou: the beautiful scenery and location, not checking into a generic office where you were just another patient. Everything about going to Lou is so personalized. She puts the fan right on me, brings me water, lends me equipment temporarily if I need it for home use, happily answers all my questions and even watches my toddler if I can't find a babysitter! Who else does those things!?
In summary, Lou's massages worked out my tightness and helped eliminate the pain and enabled me to do more challenging exercises. Her workouts got me strong in a safe and efficient way and further combat the pain. Her manual PT addresses any issues that pop up. She is a one stop shop (The only person I need to see now) and a bargain to boot! She is understanding of the fear that people with chronic pain experience and without making light of it, wipes it away by her skill, insight and by inspiring confidence that she can help which she quickly does. I recommend Lou to anyone and everyone! She is a healer and nothing short of the perfect answer to a heartfelt prayer!! I am eternally grateful to Lou as is my family.

I really enjoyed my time in the Lou Zone. It has changed the way I look at my health and food practices. I found a wellness practice that I feel I can maintain for life. I truly feel more energetic and have more mental clarity. "Live in the Lou Zone."

lou is the complete package!
she's inventive, knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging and very experienced in mysteries of the bodily kind! i was initially introduced to lou after orthopedic specialists were unable to identify the cause of significant hip pain after running. lou took the time to identify muscle imbalances, create personalized rehab exercises and provide additional relief via massage and i've been running without hip pain ever since! in additional to physical therapy, lou developed personalized track workouts and coached me to a half marathon PR. i have no hesitation to recommend lou whether you're an athlete training for an event or looking to heal some aches or pains. Lou has an amazing combination of creativity, out-of-box thinking, a solid foundation in sports physiology, current knowledge of innovative techniques, and a genuine desire to help people. I had a serious bike accident in the summer of 2004 which resulted in some nerve damage to my spinal cord. After my initial recovery I did the usual doctor, PT visits, and tried some Yoga and acupuncture to reduce pain. I was told about Lou after she won the 24 Hours of Adrenalin race at Laguna Seca (her first mtn bike race!) and eventually made an appointment. Lou has helped me so much! She has created exercises that I can do at home to increase my flexibility and core strength. She is sensitive to time constraints I have with work and family life. She has always been there for me, even when I have slacked off or lost focus. My teenage daughter sees Lou to help with foot pain when she runs. Lou is a good person and is very willing to work with anyone. I totally believe in Lou and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone wanting to heal or meet their physical goals

Jane V. skiing on her 70th birthday after losing over 25 lbs and adding lots of lean muscle. She attributes part of her weight loss to the interval and weight training she started after a long struggle with neck, shoulder and low back pain. She is SO strong!!!!
